The Young and the Restless Spoilers Recap: Wednesday, August 23 – Sally & Nick Talk New Baby Together – Summer Removes Wedding Ring

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 23, reveals that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will be pleased that she was able to distract Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) from all the work and family drama. When Sally suggests taking this back to her suite, Nick will be on board.

At the GCAC, Summer Newman-Abbott (Allison Lanier) will bump into Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and chat with him about Harrison Abbott (Kellen Enriquez) briefly. However, Summer will eventually think it’s time to discuss the divorce since this limbo isn’t good for anyone, especially Harrison.

Kyle will be taken aback over Summer bringing it up first, but she’ll act like someone had to initiate this conversation. When Nick appears with Sally, he’ll send her upstairs while he checks on Summer since things will look intense with Kyle.

Once Nick interrupts and asks to speak with Kyle alone, Summer will point out she’s not asking either of them to have this man-to-man talk. After Summer heads up to her suite, Nick will tell Kyle that he knows what his daughter did was wrong.

Kyle was hurt deeply when Summer kept quiet about Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) survival and let Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) take the blame for her demise.

Nick will act like Summer would’ve stopped it before Diane faced serious prison time, but Kyle will suggest they’ll never know that for sure.

Nevertheless, Nick won’t think Kyle should throw away the love he shares with Summer and will play up what a wonderful family they have with Harrison.

Kyle will make it clear that he can’t forgive Summer and won’t think Nick should ask him to. Now Kyle will see that Summer is like Phyllis and that she’s not going to change.

Kyle will suggest Summer is still the same person who blackmailed him into marrying her to save Lola Rosales’ (Sasha Calle) life.

Although Nick will try to convince Kyle that Summer has matured, Kyle will stand his ground and argue that even Summer wants to end the limbo by getting a divorce.

Upstairs, Sally will get a call from Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about the fantastic new office space as he once again urges her to accept a job at SNA Media.

Despite Sally’s qualms about working together, Adam will convince her to at least come to a meeting and consider accepting a job for Nick’s sake.

Afterward, Nick will join Sally and offer updates on all the divorce drama that’s happening with Summer.

When Nick says he just wants to take Summer’s pain away, Sally will get emotional since Nick would’ve been a great bonus dad to Ava Spectra.

Nick will acknowledge that he would’ve been and will hint that he might get another chance someday. A stunned Sally will wonder if Nick’s saying he wants to have a kid with her.

Nick will clarify that he’s not proposing or suggesting they should have a child together right now.

That said, if Nick and Sally were on the same page about having a baby together somewhere down the line, he’d be excited since Sally would be an amazing mother.

Once Kyle arrives in Summer’s suite, he’ll admit she was right. Kyle won’t be able to get past what Summer did and will think divorce is inevitable.

Summer will vow to get the rest of her stuff out of the house soon and will mention that she’ll contact her lawyer. Kyle and Summer will agree to handle this divorce as adults as well as parents.

Before Kyle goes, Summer will tearfully tell him that she really is sorry. Kyle will insist he’s sorry too and will end up sulking downstairs afterward with a drink.

Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will text Kyle to see if he wants to come see her, but he’ll skip tonight and claim he’s wiped out.

Back in Summer’s suite, she’ll remove her wedding ring set and put them in her jewelry box. Summer will also flash through some significant moments in her relationship with Kyle as she reflects on all the pain.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) will pitch the idea of Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) being her new manager since she’ll be busy with SNA Media.

Esther has worked at the coffeehouse before and knows how things work, so Sharon will think she’s the perfect fit.

Esther will admit she’s been looking for more human interaction than she’s getting through her receptionist job at Chancellor-Winters.

Although Esther will have to work everything out with Devon Hamilton-Winters (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) first, she’ll accept the Crimson Lights manager job and plan to start soon.

At the park, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will grow concerned about Aria Porter-Copeland’s (Maddie and Millie Ingle) hearing since she’ll sleep right through multiple thunderclaps.

Later, Y&R spoilers say Tessa and Mariah will share their concerns with Sharon – though they’ll try to downplay them and hope they’re just being paranoid moms.

Even so, Mariah and Tessa will reflect on other times when Aria wasn’t startled by loud noises at home.

Aria also hasn’t been responding to her name being called yet, but Sharon will offer reassurance about babies going at their own pace when it comes to milestones.

Sharon will mention how Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) has always been a deep sleeper and suggest there’s no need to panic.

Of course, Sharon will still sense that Tessa and Mariah are going to worry themselves sick until they take Aria in for a new hearing test.

That’s why Sharon will make an appointment with Aria’s pediatrician for first thing in the morning – just to give Mariah and Tessa some peace of mind.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Tessa and Mariah will face some tough news soon, so stick with the CBS soap. CDL will have other sizzling Young and the Restless spoilers, news and updates to read up on, so make us your favorite Y&R hotspot.
