Angelina Jolie Ovaries and Fallopian Tubes Removed For Cancer Prevention - Early Onset Menopause Begins

Angelina Jolie underwent surgery to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed to prevent cancer. Angelina Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died of ovarian cancer a few years ago, at the age of 59, before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt became official and before Angelina Jolie adopted/gave birth to the majority of her brood. Angelina has been very outspoken about how deeply her mother’s death affected her, and how that changed her viewpoint completely on her health. In fact, I would arguably say that Angelina Jolie’s decision to get a double mastectomy is probably one of the biggest movements in the cancer preventative world that we’ve seen today, especially as it inspired millions of women to do the same.

Now, not everyone may agree with her or her health choices, but one thing she should be commended on is how open she’s been about the whole process. She got the first few parts of the surgery done almost a few years ago, but has been putting off the last remaining stages until now. However, reports confirm that Angelina Jolie did get her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed after a check-up two weeks ago. In fact, Angelina wrote an article about it titled ‘Angelina Jolie Pitt: Diary Of A Surgery’, in which she revealed that a blood test showed several ‘inflammatory markers’ that could be the result of early cancer. She was told to see a surgeon immediately so that she could complete her preventative double mastectomy, which in turn, involved removing her ovaries and fallopian tubes. In other words, Angelina Jolie won’t be getting pregnant again and brought about an early onset of menopause, but it’s a small price to pay for her future health, no? Again, some people may disagree, but also, it’s not like Angelina Jolie needs any more children.
