Kate Middleton arrived on July 26 to the America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth with Prince William looking very sporty. In these photos below the Duchess of Cambridge can be seen dressing sensibly for the event, wearing jeans, a long sleeve fleece sweatshirt with the logo of Sir Ben Ainslie’s team, BAR (Ban Ainslie Racing), embossed on the front, and her hair pulled back in a pony tail.
The Back of Kate Middleton’s fleece jacket says “BAR,” in between the shoulders and towards her back the fleece reads, “The Duchess of Cambridge.” Despite the weather, which could have been better, Kate Middleton appears extremely happy and cheerful, and is clearly a very spirited supporter of Sir Ben Ainslie and his team.
Kate Middleton was joined by her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, as the two supported Sir Ben Ainslie, Britain’s most successful sailor. Prince William stood side by side his wife, Kate Middleton, and sported a matching fleece jacket embossed with the BAR logo. The back of Prince William’s jacket matches Kate’s as well and said, “The Duke of Cambridge.”
William and Kate decided to leave their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at home today, in the care of their personal staff, allowing for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to travel to the South coast to enjoy the America’s Cup event.
Kate Middleton, who is a sailor herself, is a huge supporter of BAR (Ben Ainslie Racing), and is the royal patron of the 1851 Trust, which helps inspire and develop the next generation of trait sailors and others in the marine industry.
For those who are unfamiliar with the event, The America’s Cup is the oldest trophy in international sports, and first began back in 1851 right off the Isle of Wight. The America’s Cup has not returned to Britain following the initial defeat.
Unfortunately, The America’s Cup was cancelled due to inclement weather, but Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton still showed their gratitude to every one in attendance and made the best of their time.
