Beyonce has dumped her longtime manager to boost her own career. Has Beyonce become obsessed with success so much so that she’s willing to trample over anything or anyone in her way? In a pretty bold statement, Beyonce has parted ways with her now former manager, Lee Anne Callahan-Longo, and has hired Steve Pamon to replace her.
According to PageSix, Beyonce’s new manager is a pretty big deal as he was formerly JPMorgan Chase’s head of sports and entertainment marketing. Pamon was also behind JP Morgan sponsoring Beyonce and Jay Z’s 2014 tour, On the Run. So yes, they already have a bit of a history together. Question is…What happened to GIRLS running the world? Beyonce has fired her female manager to hire on a male manager. That doesn’t sound like GIRLS who run the world, now, does it?
A source told PageSix, “Beyoncé basically cleaned house, got rid of her whole team, which included her cousin, and hired a new team. She wants to surround herself with business people who could take her career to an even higher level. She has one album left to deliver before her deal is up with Columbia, plus she wants to make smarter decisions where it comes to touring, sponsorships and acting roles.”
Beyonce’s rep, Yvette Noel-Schure, talked about the split saying, “Lee Anne Callahan-Longo has worked with Beyoncé for the last 10 years. Their friendship supersedes business, and while she is no longer an employee of Parkwood, she will remain an imperative part of Beyoncé’s life.”
I would love to hear a statement from Lee Anne to see if the feeling is mutual. Do you think that Jay Z was at all pushing for this switch to help boost his career as well? Beyonce is such a household name already, it makes you wonder just how much higher up can she go? I guess we may have a lot to see in 2016 as the year is still very young.
