LIVE RECAP:

Dex wakes up to Hannah making breakfast, mulling over the call from his sister asking him to take out his new girlfriend – and not on a date. Hannah’s chopping special herbs from her garden – I wouldn’t want anything from that wacko’s garden. She serves him breakfast – is he going to eat it?

Dexter notices Hannah’s outdated calendar – it’s from the year she was running around with Wayne. She tells him it’s about the photo – Argentina – which is her dream spot. Dex gets a buzz from Deb and he admits to Hannah that his sister is the lieutenant who grilled her. She’s not thrilled and tells him it’s okay if it was just a one-time thing, but also tells him she’d like to see him again.

Dex comes knocking on Deb’s door and they have coffee – Deb tells him she couldn’t sleep. He asks her if she really wants him to kill Hannah. She tells him she’s vetted her according to his rules, but is frustrated because someone cleaned the Hannah notes off Price’s computer. He tells her it was him.

She gives him more evidence and tells him Hannah fits the code. He tells her no and she’s upset and asks if he knows how hard it was for him to ask him to kill for her. She vents and tells Dex that Hannah will kill again. She tells him she wishes there was another way – that he’s all she has left because there’s no evidence to put her behind bars.

Dexter gets a text from his step-daughter with news of her grandfather’s sickness. Dex tells her she can’t be involved with his murderous little habit for her own good. She tells him she can handle it, but he tells her she’ll regret it and tells her a definite “no” on the Hannah issue. She tells him he sounds like their Dad. His inner voice admits he’s lying to her about why he won’t off Hannah.

Sirko loses the cops – sends them after a decoy and George tells him to let the Dexter thing go – tells him it’s going to mess up their business. Sirko loads up a silenced handgun – I don’t think he is going to let it go.

Dex is having a little chat with his dead invisible Dad about being in the clear with Sirko for now because the police are tailing him. He asks the donut dude to get him Deb’s favorite donuts. Dex drops his keys and ducks and just misses a bullet in the head from Sirko. Donut dude comes out from the back and assumes it was gang gunfire.

Dad chastises Dex about wasting time with Hannah and letting Sirko sneak up on him. Dex gets another message from Aster and finds out the kids are coming home – that’s gold medal bad timing… He tells Deb that Sirko tried to off him and that inconveniently Aster, Cody and Harrison are on the way to stay with him. He asks her for ideas and she offers her place. She tells him she’ll put patrol on his place and tell La Guerta that she’s scared of Sirko getting revenge for the arrest.

Dex gives her a laundry list of things she has to change at her house before the kids get there. She’s willing , but not enthused. Deb tells her she’s going to go rattle Hannah’s cage. Wow! Hope Hannah doesn’t try to off his sister – I don’t think he’ll take that too well.

Angel tells everyone it’s his first night as the official owner of Papa’s. He tells Dex her can bring the kids – that it’s a family place.

Deb’s at Hannah’s and getting real with her. She tells her that she knows who and what she is because Sal told her everything. Deb accuses her of killing Sal. Hannah tells her that she was a screwed up 15 year old when Wayne took her on the killing spree – she says she was in over her head. Deb tells her that she’s in over her head now and tells her she’s going to be sorry.

George is on the phone to the higher powers that be in the Ukranian mob and tells them that Sirko’s off the rails. They come to an agreement and it sounds like Sirko may be on the black list. George invites Quinn to come hang out and watch Nadya dance. Quinn’s pissed because he didn’t get Nadya’s passport as agreed. George blames it on the bosses in Kiev – George offers him money to do one last job – wonder if it’s icing Sirko, but Quinn tells him to f-off.

Dex breaks into Sirko’s hideout and finds another guy there also waiting to kill Sirko. The guy tells him he won’t go halfsies so Dex has to cut his throat and laments “We could have just gone halfsies!” Ha! Jamie and the kids are a couple of hours out from Miami.

La Guerta is at the marina researching Bay Harbor Butcher stuff (I assume) and finds out Dexter had a slip but abruptly stopped using it with eight months left on the paid rental. Hmm.

Dex is at Angel’s place with Deb, Jamie and the kids. He corrects Deb when she curses in front of the kids. Aster and Cody are pick, pick, picking at each other. Cody tells Dex and Deb she smokes pot and grabs out her drug baggie for all to see. Deb hides it because the place is crawling with cops. Deb and Dex go to talk to Aster and she says it’s no big deal, that it isn’t even illegal in all states.

Good Dad Dex tells her it’s always illegal for a kid her age. He tells her it’s not a good idea, that indulging a vice to relieve stress can actually cause more stress. Deb gives him a knowing look. Aster stomps off in typical teen style. Dex tucks the kids in and tells her Harrison’s in her bed. Deb wants to know if he wets the bed and he says “not always.” Deb is so not thrilled.

Deb thanks Dex for not consenting to kill Hannah. She tells him she knows he did it for her. He thanks her for taking in his kids. He muses that all of his family is there under one roof and asks himself why he wants to be somewhere else so badly. Then he’s at Hannah’s door. She asks him if it’s a booty call and he asks what that is. He’s so innocent in weird little ways, right?

He tells her about Sirko trying to kill him. She said that doesn’t sound good and he tells her it’s Ukranian mafia. He tells her it’s not the whole mob, just one guy who’s after him because he killed a guy that was dear to him. Hannah wants to know more and Dex says it’s just a matter of killing him before he kills him first.

She advises him to research Sirko like he did her. Hannah said that seems to work best for him. He tells her it’s different, that he was vetting her to make sure he met his code. She loans him her van in case Sirko knows Dex’s car. They kiss and he admits how amazing it is to him that he can really talk to her about his kills. She offers to show him what a booty call is… Aww! Sweet, sociopathic love!

Nadya tells Quinn not to worry about her passport, that she’ll get it soon because they like to keep the dancers as young as possible. She makes him promise he’ll never work for them again and heads off to the showers. There’s a knock at her door and it’s George. He plays Quinn a recording he made of him agreeing to lose the evidence against Sirko. Quinn says he’ll take him down with him and George doesn’t care.

Quinn asks what he wants and George says he needs some security during a drug buy. He tells him if he doesn’t help, he’ll make the recording public. Quinn’s caught between a stripper and a hard place.

Sirko’s chatting with his loyal bodyguard. Seems the killer Dex waxed was a hit man for the brotherhood. Sirko tells them he’s on the mob’s hit list and that he’s got to run and live off his offshore accounts. They call the cops and he’s poking at Dex who’s there to work the crime scene. Angel tells Sirko it could have been him that killed the guy.

Vince gives time of death and the police escort confirms they had him in their sights so he’s got an alibi. Deb asks Dex what happened and he describes a scenario. Sirko tells him it’s almost like he was there in the room. Dex takes off to see the kids and tells Deb to keep Sirko occupied as long as possible.

Dex is playing with Jamie and the kids at the beach and goes to talk to Aster who’s sulking. She tells him she misses the beach, that it reminds her of her mom. She worries that when her grandparents find out about the pot, that they’ll assume she’s just like her loser Dad. Dex tells her someone told him when he was younger who he was and he feels like that set his course in life and he wonders how he could have been different if that hadn’t happened. She tells him he turned out well. Dex reassures her he won’t rat her out to the grandparents.

Hannah calls and tells him she needs her greenhouse keys from the van. She wants to stop by and pick them up. He tells her he’s at the beach and she stops by to get the keys. Hannah asks what he’s doing there and at first she thinks he’s there with his wife. He tells her it’s the nanny and points out his kids and their ages. He apologizes and tells her he should have told her.

She wants to know if he held back because he didn’t trust her or thought she’s reject him because of it. He tells her it was some of both. Hannah tells him she’s envious because he can be both killer and have a normal life. She tells him no matter where she goes, she’s Hannah McKay – teen killer. She admits she and Wayne talked about having 10 kids. He tells her it could still be in the cards for her.

Wow – can’t believe Dex let her know about the kids. Dex comes to Deb’s after the kids are in bed. She tells him that bedtime was torture and that she hates Dr. Seuss. He muses whether Hannah could fit in with his family. Deb notices the keys in his hand and asks about it – he tells her he borrowed a car from a friend and she asks if it was Hannah. Then she asks if he’s f-ing her. Then she wants to know if that’s why he won’t kill her.

He said that was partially the reason and Deb lays into him for lying about the reasons he wouldn’t kill Hannah. Dex admits he has feelings for Hannah and she wants to know if it’s because she’s a killer also. Deb’s angry (and I’m sure jealous). She wants to know if he helped her kill Price.

He asks if being with Hannah is worse than being a killer to her. She said yes and then no. Deb tells him to stop seeing her – he says he doesn’t want to. He says he’s not asking her permission and she tells him he couldn’t be hurting her more. Dex says is she loves him, she’ll accept it.

She tells him why she came to the church and caught him with Travis – that she was coming to tell him she’s in love with him. He’s stunned and asks what she means. Deb says she didn’t mean to say it and she’s sobbing and tells him she knows it’s weird and gross. She tells him it’s bad enough to love your brother, but a whole different thing to be in love with your brother who’s a serial killer. She says he’s a serial killer and she’s even more f-ed up than he is.

Deb asks him to say something and he’s in shock. He tells her he’s sorry and he doesn’t know what to say. She tells him he never knows what to say. She tells him to leave, that she can’t look at him. Dex leaves but stops, thoughtful.

Dex is stalking Sirko and talking with his Dad. His Dad tells him it makes sense based on her behavior. He tells Dad that he can’t feel what she wants him to feel. Dad says he doesn’t even know what that means and to calm down. His Dad tells him to calm down and Dex admits killing is the thing that calms him down. He follows him to a bar and tells Dad he’s going to give Sirko a half dose of knock out drug and walk him out. His Dad cautions him because the police are only 100 yards away.

Dex comes to chat with Sirko and he orders him a beer and says his first and last name so the bartender can ID him if anything happens. Trapped, Dex sits down to have a drink with him – apparently it’s a gay bar. Dex asks if he’s there because he thinks his enemies won’t follow him into a gay bar. Sirko tells him he’s in a gay bar because he’s gay – ooh – ooh – now I know why he’s so upset about Viktor. They must have been lovers!!

Sirko admits he’s been worried about the mob finding out he was gay. He tells Dex that he took away from him the only happiness in his life. He thanks Dex for killing the assassin and saving his life. Sirko asks what Dex did to the man who killed Rita. He tells him getting revenge didn’t help that she’s still gone.

Dex said his vendetta is what cost him his ties with the mob. Sirko said love is impossible, but makes life worth living. Dex said he doesn’t know much about love and Sirko tells him that’s because he’s a scientist. Sirko tells him love can be inappropriate and can make you do things you shouldn’t, but that it’s ever wrong.

Dex tells him they don’t have to keep at this and Sirko tells him he does. He tells him after he kills Dex, he’s going to take off and spend the rest of his days lost. Dex suggests Argentina and Sirko tells him he was thinking Micronesia. Sirko tells him it would be a great to find a place where they don’t have to pretend. (I know Dex is thinking of Hannah at this point). Sirko tells him under other circumstances, they could have been friends and he leaves.

Dex muses that everyone wants an Argentina – a place where their slate is wiped clean. Sirko plays and replays Viktor’s final voice mail over and over staring out the window.

La Guerta is at the marina, checking out Dexter’s boat.

Deb and Aster are smoking pot together on Deb’s porch.

Dex muses whether we keep returning to the places that feel like home to us and he’s at Hannah’s door taking her in his arms. He muses that it’s great to be someplace where you can be who you really are.
