Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder are still co-workers and friends, if nothing else. And considering that this is Oscar weekend and networking could be everyone’s ticket to their next gig, we’re likely to see them hobnobbing among the elite and stopping by a few industry functions. Hopefully Liam Hemsworth stays out of the way!
Los Angeles is the place to be for actors this weekend, whether you work on a CW television show or you’re an Oscar nominated actor looking for your next awards bait film. It’s one time of the year where every celebrity, ever executive, every producer, every writer, and everyone with even the most tenuous connection to the industry jets into town for the parties, the glitz, and the glamour. Some of them actually get quite a bit of work done as well – remember, this is work for a lot of people, and they manage to make some hot deals throughout this weekend.
Nina and Ian, coming up on the sixth season of the Vampire Diaries, are in a perfect position to take advantage of the buzz. Both of them have proven that they’re a tabloid draw and have a lot of fans, and together, they can draw the audiences. And to executives, that’s VERY important. They need to know that the actors they’re courting have a passionate fan base, and whether that fan base is contingent on anything. Plus, drinks and parties – who’s to say that Nina and Ian won’t get a little tipsy and reunite, if only for the weekend? Especially if that’s what causes the buzz to increase?
