#Billions starts with Chuck tied hands and feet by a dominatrix. She pulls of his gag and she says she may leave marks. He says not a good idea. She puts out a cigarette on his chest and he groans. She then pees on the burn and he moans in pleasure.

New guy Michael is told he can’t f-k up by Kate. Then she and Bryan give Chuck an update on the investigation. Ari Spyros from the SEC shows up and lays some files on the desk. He says there’s a suspect trading pattern on a pharmaceutical trade.

Chuck looks at the charts and he says there are three small firms buying and selling with obvious insider information. Ari says all three have links to Bobby Axelrod. Bobby is out for pizza with Lara and he talks to the owner about saving his shop since he let him eat for free when he was coming up.

Two of Bobby’s guys bring him a deal. Bobby breaks down the deal for them and says they’re not seeing this right. He says Kazawitz is bailing on a loser and says don’t buy it, short it. He tells Danzig to get smarter. He tells Ben, the new guy, figure it out or you’ll be gone.

Ari tells Chuck this is big and criminal and he wants to be part of taking down Bobby. Chuck says the burden of proof isn’t enough and tells Ari to build his own case. Chuck says it may be a win for everyone and they’ll check it out to see if it can be prosecuted.

Bobby meets with a group of kids he’s giving college money. One of the women gets snippy because these are kids of people who died in 9/11. Bobby says he doesn’t understand why he was out to lunch and missed the tragedy and says he misses those people.

Chuck tells Bryan that Bobby is like Mike Tyson in his prime. Bryan says it was significant info but Chuck says Ari might be setting them up for a bad case. He says Bobby is a folk hero in this town. He says he gave $100 million to the FDNY last year.

Chuck says a good matador waits for the bull to be stuck before you try to take him down. Lara talks to June afterwards, the woman who got snippy with Bobby. She says she had to sell their boat and Rake loved it. Lara says she was never on a yacht til she dated Bobby.

She says she grew up in a poor Irish family and says everyone looked at her twice when she came into this world. She says now she’s comfortable but certain things never leave you. She says one thing you learn is taking a beef public instead of coming to someone means you’re on your own.

June asks if she’s threatening her and Lara says yes. Kate tells Chuck that Bobby is trying to buy an $83 million mansion out in the Hamptons. They wonder if that would make Bobby look bad in the press. Wendy talks to a patient and tells him he doesn’t need meds, he needs to listen to his inner voice.

She has him stand up and tell her what his take was last year. He says $7.2 million. She makes him thump his chest and say he’s awesome. She tells him to go cut bait on the losers and commit to his success.

Chuck goes home and kisses his kids then goes to see his wife Wendy who is working on notes from her session. She asks him how crime fighting is going. He asks if she’s good with her situation and says GE needs a new head of HR.

She asks why he’s suggesting this. She asks if he’s prosecuting someone at Axe – she’s an in-house shrink of sorts for Bobby’s company. He says he’s the US Attorney and she says she’s been working there since before they were married.

He says they knew there might be conflict. She says she’s making eight times what he does and says he’s acting like his awful father. He says he works for the public good – she says he works for his own good. He says turn off the f-ing shrink switch.

She says take it down a notch. She says he’s a superhero but she doesn’t like being manipulated. They bury the hatchet. Bobby sits down with the wife and kids and they talk about their rowdy dog. It pees on a table corner and Bobby says he’s marking his territory.

Bobby quizzes his sons on US presidents. The younger kid bets the older he knows it and suckers him into a bet. The older kid has to do 10 push ups when his mom says we don’t welsh. Chuck sits brooding with his eyes closed on a meditation break.

His assistant pages him to remind him of a meeting. His dad is in the meeting and he asks if he’s trying to get him disbarred. They want Chuck to let Skip show his rehabilitation. Chuck says he wants what, a bigger fine for less jail time.

They offer $10 million for house arrest. The attorneys tell him it’s a fair offer. He says it’s the kind of deal that has been made countless time before. Then he says – not by me. He says you don’t buy your way out of justice. He says bringing his father bought them no courtesy.

Chuck says they played this badly. He says you should have built your fortune without crossing the line and says he can tell his cronies they will end up like him if they use insider information. Skip says he can’t and gets all teared up.

Skip says he knows he’s not a bad man. Chuck says he can’t. Chuck says his father told him mercy was a word pussies use when they can’t take the pain. He tells his father if he tries to influence him again, he’ll walk out in handcuffs.

Chuck tells Skip he’s known him since he was a boy and remembers him playing tennis with his dad. He says he never wanted to see him like this but he needs to know he has the strength to get through this and come out a better man.

He says he wishes him well and pats his shoulder. He goes. Bobby watches his son’s basketball game. He’s interrupted by two debating employees over a deal. Bill and Pouch present their cases. Bobby asks how sure he is.

Bill says he’s not uncertain – he thinks back to bribing someone to check out a warehouse at the place of business they were discussing. Chuck holds a press conference about a major drug bust and indictments. A reporter asks why he’s not prosecuting big firms for insider trading and is focused on minorities.

The reporter says he has a conflict of interest in his home. Chuck says he’s put away 81 insider trading perpetrators and says Skip is a good example and says he’ll serve his full sentence. Chuck tells Bryan to tell his buddy at Bobby’s company to tell Bobby not to buy that house.

Chuck calls Ari back and says he knows he sent the reporter to grill him about Axe. Ari says they’re on the same side and it’s the right thing to do. Chuck says he wouldn’t know the right thing to do if it was on his junk. He threatens Ari if he tries a stunt like that again.

Bryan goes to see Orrin Bach, Bobby’s guy, who tells him when he goes to the private sector, he can make $1.4 million. He says Bobby doesn’t need the beach house. Orrin says Bobby runs a clean shop. Bryan says if a police car follows you for 500 miles, you’ll get a ticket.

Wendy comes to see Bobby and he says he wanted to see her about a purchase he’s considering. He says people have told him if he buys it, it will unleash the hounds which makes him want it more. He says being a billionaire is like being a woman with a perfect set of tits.

He says you know what everyone is looking at and wants. She says don’t buy it – don’t get into a bitch fight over nothing. Danzig sticks his head in and says Bobby was right on the deal and he waited a bit to sell short and they made even more $18 million.

Bobby asks Wendy if she’s thinking of leaving. She says she wonders whether she’s still growing. She says she loves the place but misses seeing other types of patients. He says her value to him is absolute and says she can spend time away and see other patients outside but stick with him.

She thanks him and goes. Chuck goes to his parents place and goes to talk to his dad. He asks his dad what was that stunt. He says Skip is an old friend but he figured Chuck would act like that and says it’s good that they fear Chuck and will know he’s tough on Wall Street.

He tells Chuck he needs to smile more at the pressie. He asks about the question about Bobby and he says it’s about Ari. His dad says Bobby is very popular. He tells his dad about Bobby shopping for a huge house and his dad says that would make him just another rich a-hole.

He says he sent word that Bobby shouldn’t buy it. He says a guilty man will buy it to show he’s got nothing to hide. His dad offers to have a wealthy friend make a bid on the house to get the competitive juices flowing to tempt Bobby.

His dad mentions that his wife should not be working especially for Bobby. Chuck says it’s fine. Danny comes to see Bobby and says he has some ideas then asks if the Lambo out front is his. Chuck says no. He notices something about Danny’s hand.

Chuck gets a special cell phone out of his safe and calls Hall. Hall tells Bobby that Danny was arrested and is likely cooperating. Sure enough, he was wearing a wire. Hall says the SEC isn’t the big deal – it’s the US Attorney he needs to worry about.

Hall tells him handle the reporter asking the questions and says make him your best friend. Then Hall says the worst thing is guys coming into your office in windbreakers telling him to step away from the computer.

He shows Bobby a pic of Steven Birch and says he just has to outswim that guy and let the sharks have Steven instead of him. Hall says do it and then Bobby tells him Wendy tried to quit today. Hall asks if he still trusts her and Bobby says he wants to.

Bobby meets the reporter for an off the record talk. The reporter asks him about the kids he’s putting through college and he says no. He says he doesn’t use insider information – he just knows how to analyze information available to everyone.

They talk about some other stuff then Bobby drops the name Steven Birch. He also gives the reporter his cell number and says call after the market closes. Steven and Bobby are co-speakers at a success event. Chuck shows up and takes a seat.

Bobby mentions government officials that tell you that you can’t buy something. Steven approaches some people after the conference and the reporter sneaks closer and records the conversation on his phone. Bobby sees Chuck outside and asks if he’s sending him messages.

Chuck says some kids in his office told him he was buying that house and he has big balls. Bobby says he’ll probably pass but it’s like your part of the ocean. Then Bobby says he knows Chuck knows how nice it is, since his daddy has a place there.

Chuck threatens him with bringing an action. Bobby says he can’t afford a loss and won’t bring a case he knows he can’t win. Chuck says Bobby is working the 9/11 stuff hard and Bobby tells him to f-k off and says he’s never sent out one press release about what he does.

Chuck says Bobby might be riding high now but people will be ready to turn on him. Bobby sits meditating when his phone buzzes. He’s told Denny Dantone offered $62 million for the house. Bobby curses.

He looks at his dog lying on his bed looking unhappy. Lara comes in and says he got fixed – that’s why he’s lying around. Bobby makes a call and says he wants the house and offers $63 million cash. Chuck’s phone wakes him and it’s Mike Dimonda the reporter.

He asks him about Skip’s suicide. Chuck says no comment. Next morning, Chuck heads to the office where everyone is somber. He says a reminder like this is useful. He says what they do has consequences. He says he doesn’t give breaks to drug dealers or businessmen.

He says none of this should change their mission. He says come to work strong every day and don’t waver. Bryan shows him the front page New York Post story about Bobby buying the beach house. Bryan says it’s like he’s daring him.

Lara tells Bobby that she loves the house. He takes a call from Hall who says he thinks they opened a case file on him. Bobby says he’s ready. Hall says they could be coming after you and Bobby says f-k them.

Chuck comes home and finds Wendy waiting up. He kisses her and she pulls his hair. She shoves him back on the sofa and presses her high heel to his chest. OMG – his wife is the dominatrix!

THE END!
