Liza Weil Divorces Paul Adelstein: How To Get Away With Murder and Scandal Real Life Drama

Lisa Weil and Paul Adelstein have split and filed for divorce. Looks Like ‘Scandal’ and ‘How To get Away With Murder’ didn’t work for the formerly married couple. There is some real life drama going on behind the scenes of ‘Scandal’ and “How To Get Away With Murder.’ ‘HTGAWM’ and ‘Scandal’ have a lot in common, they both air on ABC on Thursday nights, they’re both products of TV genius Shonda Rhimes, and two of their stars are married to each other.

A lot of fans never realized that ‘Scandal’ star Paul Adelstein is married to ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star Liza Weil. Liza plays the part of Annalise Keating’s partner-in-crime Bonnie Winterbottom. And, Adelstein has starred as Leo Bergen from 2013 – present on ‘Scandal.’

Sadly, the couple has called it quits and filed for divorce, per an article from People Magazine.

Liza and Paul were married long before Shonda Rhimes had taken over much of prime time programming at ABC, back in 2006. In 2010 the couple welcomed a baby girl named Josephine. According to People Magazine, Lisa Weil and Paul Adelstein filed for divorce on March 36 – and they are trying to keep the split amicable and plan to share join custody of their 6 year old daughter.

‘Scandal’ and ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ are both feuled by lies, sex, scandal, and treachery – it really is not a surprise that two people embroiled in those worlds couldn’t keep their relationship together.

So far there is no news yet on what caused Liza and Paul’s split – here’s to hoping that they weren’t taking any pages out of their Shondaland characters’ playbooks.

Liza Weil actually just signed on for the Netflix reboot of the show that jumpstarted her career, ‘Gilmore Girls.’ So, it’s not like she would have had much free time in the future to try and work on her marriage to Paul.
