The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will rethink her decision to take the high road. Y&R fans know Phyllis was outraged when Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) suggested she should pursue her heart’s desire. It was clear to him (and Y&R fans) that Phyllis wanted Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), so he pushed her to go after him to suit both their agendas.
Of course, Phyllis found that proposition to be disgusting and uncalled for. It’s certainly not out of her wheelhouse and Phyllis has stooped to far worse before. Nevertheless, Phyllis was appalled and made it clear it Adam made a big mistake – one he would regret. Adam didn’t seem all that concerned, but maybe he should be! Since when has Phyllis ever ignored a revenge opportunity for long?
During the week of December 23-27, Nick will try his best to embrace the spirit of the holiday season. This is a time of peace and love, so he’ll hope to bring the fam together by inviting Adam to his Christmas party. Nick may think if he shows Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) he’s willing to get along with Adam, it’ll be a step toward being a blended happy family.
Adam may be pleased by this invitation for a couple reasons. It could help bolster the “changed man” reputation he’s going for with Chelsea and convince him Nick is dropping his guard – or perhaps getting desperate. Nick’s definitely hoping to find a way forward with Chelsea, but they’ll be stuck as long as Chelsea’s living under Adam’s roof.
However, that’s exactly where Adam wants her. His love for Chelsea is growing stronger every day, which is why he encouraged Phyllis to seduce Nick. Adam feels he belongs with Chelsea, and pairing Phyllis back up with Nick could be a path to achieving that. Unfortunately, that proposition could cost Adam just as Phyllis promised it would.
After Phyllis gets updates on Nick’s invitation, she’ll decide she can’t hold her tongue any longer. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will rat Adam out! She’ll fill Nick in on Adam’s plan to win back Chelsea for himself, which shouldn’t surprise Nick at all. Phyllis will likely admit Adam tried to use her as a pawn, but she chose to rise above the games and put Nick’s feelings first.
What will Nick’s next move be? Will he blab to Chelsea and hope she sees the light about Adam? Could Chelsea act like Phyllis is lying to reunite with Nick?
