General Hospital Spoilers: Dante's Brain Changed After Near-Death Experience - Obrecht's Mind Control No Longer Works?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) could face some big changes soon. As GH viewers know, Dante was stabbed with a syringe loaded with a near-lethal dose of lidocaine by Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Dante immediately collapsed and subsequently coded, nearly dying in the process.

One wonders what kind of effect Dante’s trauma and near-death experience may have on Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) mission regarding Peter August (Wes Ramsey) going forward.

Obrecht has had Dante working for her, as she capitalizes on the mind control techniques that Dr. Warren Kirk (Jamison Jones) performed on Dante. All Obrecht has to do is click a pen to keep Dante in line.

Well, Dante’s going to have a lot of people asking questions once he wakes up from his syringe stabbing ordeal. As GH viewers will remember, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was quite interested in exactly why Dante would fling himself in between Franco and a syringe.

Jason will probably want to quiz Dante on why he wanted to protect Franco at the expense of his own safety.

Of course, Dante protected Franco because Obrecht gave him a command to do so after the click of her pen. But now that Dante has experienced such a big trauma and nearly died, will he still be susceptible to the same mind controlling techniques as before his brush with death?

Perhaps the trauma of the near-death experience & seizures did a reset of sorts on Dante’s brain – and if that’s the case, then he’s probably going to refuse to help Obrecht any longer.

In fact, Dante could even figure out exactly what kind of control Obrecht had over him, and he could spill to Jason…something that might prompt Jason to seek out Obrecht for help in taking Peter down.

We’ll see what happens here, but we’d say there’s a good chance that this whole syringe incident may put Obrecht’s ability to control Dante in jeopardy, if it doesn’t outright end the control

. In that case, Obrecht will need another avenue to getting dirt on Peter, so she’ll in a way be back at square one.

Do you think that Dante will wake up from his syringe stabbing ordeal stronger and freed of Obrecht’s control? Stay tuned to the ABC soap and don’t forget to check CDL as often as you can for the latest General Hospital spoilers, daily episode recaps, and news.
