The Young and the Restless Spoilers Update: Thursday, January 7 – Chelsea’s Connor Heartbreak – Devon’s Twin Confusion Dream

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Thursday, January 7, teases that an angry Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) drops by Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) place with the news that Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) changed her mind.

Amanda fills Devon in on her birth mother’s text about how she couldn’t go through with it. Since Naya couldn’t even give her one conversation, Amanda’s frustrated.

Amanda rants about how angry and hurt she feels. It took a lot to reach out to Naya only for her to back out like that. Amanda doesn’t know what her next move is and needs to think this through.

It seems wrong going back to Illinois to confront Naya. Making demands isn’t going to get Amanda anywhere. All Amanda can do is hope Naya has a change of heart.

At Chancellor Communications, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) barges in on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) conversation. Adam wants to know how they play to use what they know about Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) condition against his family.

Adam complains about the reporters harassing him and assumes they’re working for Chance Comm.

Adam insists that if Billy and Lily want to come after him, they should take their best shot. Chelsea’s medical condition, however, shouldn’t be exploited. Adam points out the first article on him already did enough damage

. “What’s happening to Chelsea – what she’s going through right now is on YOU,” Adam insists.

Adam talks about the lengths he went to, so Billy wonders if Adam’s admitting to cutting the power off in the building before Chelsea’s fall. Adam blames Billy for being obsessed with destroying his life and couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

“You’re the reason she fell in the elevator, which means you’re the real she’s in the hospital, Adam!” Billy declares.

Adam turns to Lily and appeals to her as a “decent, rational human being.” Since Adam has a son who doesn’t know how serious his mother’s condition is, he’d really like to keep it that way for a while. After Adam storms out, Lily glares at Billy and wants him to confirm that he’s not actually thinking of doing this.

Although a story on Chelsea wasn’t on the table before, Billy doesn’t see why it can’t be now. Adam just basically admitted to being responsible for Chelsea’s ordeal, but Lily says they don’t know that. She refuses to exploit Chelsea’s condition and wants Billy to take a step back since he’s making this personal again.

Amanda comes in and asks what they’re arguing about, but Billy claims it’s just a spirited discussion. “No, we’re arguing,” Lily insists. Billy explains that they’re considering running another story on Adam, but Lily corrects that Billy’s the only one considering it.

They fill Amanda in on Chelsea’s health issues and how Adam admitted to cutting the power to prevent the second exposé.

Amanda spells out the reasons why they shouldn’t pursue this story and leaves them to keep arguing. Lily wants to protect Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), but Billy feels she’s protecting Adam. “Maybe Adam’s right! Maybe you are just obsessed,” Lily contends. Billy sees no reason to continue this conversation.

At Jabot, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) thanks Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) for putting in a good word with Summer Newman (Hunter King). Sally feels like she cleared the air with Summer and might even become friends with her – and it’s all due to Jack. He downplays his part in it, but he’s glad Sally and Summer agreed to a do-over.

Sally admits to having some “viral” moments where she wasn’t all that mature. She shows Jack pictures from some wild days out in LA featuring food fights. Sally’s social media numbers shot through the roof briefly, but the incidents themselves took some time to live down.

Jack laughs off those incidents and understands. He reflects on being thrown in jail over a bar brawl once and begs Sally not to look up his mugshot. Sally chuckles over Jack’s story as they charm each other.

In Summer’s suite, she talks to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) about her upcoming trip to Los Angeles. Kyle insists this isn’t really a business trip, but Summer argues that Lauren Baldwin’s (Tracey E. Bregman) been thinking about a flagship store out in LA for a while now.

Kyle argues that the real reason Summer’s going is to score leverage on Sally and figure out who she really is. Summer admits she’d like to get proof that Sally’s the con artist Summer thinks she is.

After Summer pushes Kyle to go with him, he suggests he can’t just drop everything at Jabot. Kyle also doesn’t like the idea of Summer creating an enemy where one might not exist.

Adam returns home to Chelsea, who looks somber and weak in her wheelchair. Chelsea’s nurse reveals that her patient hasn’t slept, so Adam gives Chelsea a pep talk. Dr. Lena Cavett (Dana Sparks) is coming over speak with Chelsea and Adam will take care of everything else.

After Dr. Cavett comes, she tells Chelsea that she’s dealt with both serious and mild cases. Dr. Cavett has heard Chelsea is a fighter and is counting on that fight to help her now. She has a high success rate in helping patients recover and wants to do some tests to determine the severity of Chelsea’s condition.

Summer stops by Jabot and talks to Jack about her conversation with Sally. Jack heartily approves of Summer and Sally starting over. He praises all Sally’s excellent qualities and just hopes that Sally doesn’t get in her own way.

Jack admits that Sally reminds him of himself back in the day. He thinks Summer can understand the concept of finally growing up and having people who shaped who she is now. Jack wants to help channel Sally’s considerable drive into something positive.

Sally runs into Kyle at The Grand Phoenix and assumes Summer offered updates on how they cleared the air. She claims she’s sorry Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) planted the idea of Sally going after Summer’s job and boyfriend in her head. Kyle admits even he was wondering about Sally for a minute there.

Sally suggests everyone thinks she’s got some hidden agenda, but the truth is she’s been very upfront about who she is. When Sally wonders if Kyle remembers the conversation they had when she first arrived in town, he recalls some details from it.

Sally sees that she made a real impression on Kyle. She talks about visualizing goals and taking steps to get what you want. After Sally saunters off, Kyle looks incredibly wary.

After Devon gets a text from Lily, he takes her some coffee and offers to listen. Lily admits to butting heads with Billy – only it’s a bigger deal now that they’re “involved.” Billy is still Billy and is always doing something outrageous.

Devon has experience from working alongside Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) at GC Buzz. It understands it’s not easy – and Lily’s spending a lot of time with Billy, too. Devon knows that can be tricky with a new relationship.

Lily’s just trying to accept that she’s gotten herself involved with a complicated person. Devon thinks sometimes all that passion can be good and misses it sometimes. Lily wonders if Devon is saying she should just be grateful for Billy, but Devon suggests it doesn’t matter what he thinks if that’s what Lily takes away from their chat.

Billy ends up at Society, where he bumps into Jack at the bar. Jack can tell Billy’s having a rough day, but Billy thinks Jack seems like he’s on top of the world. Jack says he’s been thinking about all the people who mentored and gave them second chances over the years. Billy’s had a million of those and has screwed up most of them.

However, now Billy’s upset because there’s “this thing” that keeps getting in the way. Jack learns Billy means his hatred for Adam. He wonders what Billy’s planning and advises that “whatever it is, don’t.”

Billy feels like he’s reached this point where he’s willing to throw everything away to get back at Adam. It’s like Billy’s in this terrible abusive relationship that he can’t get out of, but he just feels stuck.

Jack thinks it’s good that Billy has recognized that. Since Billy is the one who’s really suffering here, Jack thinks he should stop. “That was very ‘shrink-y’ of you, Jack,” Billy says.

Even so, Billy needs to work through his Adam issues on his own. This is getting in the way of something Billy doesn’t want to lose.

Later, Lily meets up with Billy in his suite and they apologize to each other. She really does admire his passion for getting at the truth and wants to look at things from his perspective. Billy knows he has a blind spot when it comes to Adam, so Lily’s glad he can admit that.

Billy feels the solution here is no more stories on Adam – completely off the table. Lily calls that “magnificent,” but she wants an honest discussion about whether they can work together and be together. Billy thinks they can do it with respect. They just have to keep bringing out the best in each other.

Billy knows they’ll challenge each other as well, but he thinks that’ll keep things healthy and exciting. It’ll give them plenty of opportunities to make up – and he wants to start right now on that bed. Lily grins adoringly at Billy and seems into the idea.

After Chelsea’s first tests on Thursday’s Young and the Restless episode, Dr. Cavett says physical therapy is a demanding process. It takes time and patience, but she can tell Chelsea has the will to get better. Once Adam’s alone with Chelsea, he reminds her that they can get through anything together.

Connor calls, so Adam lies that his mom’s asleep and will call him when she wakes up. Chelsea looks distraught as Adam assures Connor that Chelsea loves him.

Summer finds Kyle in The Grand Phoenix lobby and rants about how Sally has Jack “completely snowed.” Summer says she listened to Jack gush about “that plucky little nightmare” and it was all she could do to keep from throwing up.

Kyle agrees Sally can’t be trusted, so Summer’s surprised by his attitude adjustment.

After Kyle confesses to testing Sally, he feels like she’s good at turning the charm on and off. Sally is skilled and has clearly done this before. Kyle confirms that he’ll go with Summer on her LA trip. “Let’s find out who the real Sally Spectra is,” Kyle says with a smirk on Thursday’s Y&R episode.

Meanwhile, Sally heads to Society and takes a call from her sister, Coco Spectra (Courtney Grosbeck). “How are things going?” Sally says over the phone. She peeks around the corner at Jack and admits they’re going “surprisingly well.”

At Devon’s place, he thinks Hilary’s standing in front of him in a dream. “Guess again,” Amanda says as she steps toward Devon. After Amanda gives Devon a steamy look and takes off her jacket, Devon awakens looking unsettled on the couch.

Amanda returns to her suite and leaves Naya a voicemail. She knows this is a difficult and confusing time, but she really hopes Naya has a change of heart about meeting her. Amanda doesn’t want anything and won’t pass blame. She just wants to talk.

After Amanda hangs up, she answers a knock at the door and sees her furious half-sister standing there. “Leave my mother alone!” Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) insists.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Amanda has more family problems to work through, so stay tuned to Y&R. CDL will have all the hot Young and the Restless spoilers, updates and news you need, so check back often.
