The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) fears could become a reality. Y&R fans know Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) was previously consumed by his hatred of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), so it became a vengeful fixation.
It was Lily who helped pull Billy out of that dark revenge pit and got him focused on a better path toward the light.
Now that Billy has lost the battle for Cyaxares, he knows Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) could come after him. Billy is a target – and that means Chancellor Communications is a target, too.
Victor and Adam could use Cyaxares to completely destroy ChancComm, so Billy has strong motives to protect what he’s built with Lily.
Of course, Billy won’t want to let Adam have the last laugh either, so there’ll be a lot at stake. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) seems to be setting Adam up to take the fall for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso).
That certainly sounds like a story that’ll be a massive hit for ChancComm, but it could also put Billy’s vengeful obsession front and center again.
Lily wants Billy to focus less on old feuds and more on being the creative guy she knows he can be. However, Billy may think he can do both once this Adam scandal blows up.
Billy may find new and inventive ways to make sure the public views Adam as a menace – not that it’ll be all that hard considering Adam’s history, the previous exposé and this new frame job.
Unfortunately, this could be viewed as a step backward from Lily’s perspective. The Young and the Restless spoilers hint that it could bring some fierce conflict and leave Billy feeling like Lily expects him to be a pushover.
Billy gets that it’s not wise to head down a dark road again, but he may think this is their chance to eliminate Adam and Victor’s threat.
Naturally, there’s one person who’ll understand Billy perfectly if that’s the stance he takes – and that’s Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Victoria fully understands how dangerous Adam is and hates him almost as much as Billy does.
Lily could push Billy right into Victoria’s arms and give them something to bond over as they scheme against Adam together.
Will this Adam issue be what breaks Billy and Lily’s relationship? Will it also help Billy and Victoria inch toward a reunion? Victoria still loves Billy and would no doubt like to reconnect, so this could be her window of opportunity. We’ll provide updates as other Y&R news rolls in.
