In tonight’s 9-1-1 episode, there were two sisters that went to a Renaissance Fair together. The older one was pretty into it. The younger one not so much. Yet, they went to the fair together. The older one dressed up as a knight and she was going to participate in a tourney when she got attacked by bees. The bees were nesting in her helmet. She got attacked the moment she put on. She turned out to be allergic to the bees. She swelled into her knight armor. 911 had to be called and thankfully it was Bobby and his team. They were able to get the armor off. They gave the poor woman an epi pen. Her life was saved and the younger sister got to realize that women could be heroes too because she saw Hen save her sister’s life.
After the Renaissance Fair, the team had a day off. They all spent it in different ways. Buck babysat his niece. She was going through the terrible twos. Her parents also needed to go house hunting for a new place. Their current place only has one bedroom. Which is hard on them because they can no longer share with Jee-Yun. Buck had the little girl for a day and she still managed to tire him out. He also later learned that his sister and her boyfriend weren’t going to get a break anytime soon because they couldn’t find a two bedroom place within their budget. And so they still have to share with their daughter.
Bobby took his day off to grill his family some BBQ. He also met May’s new boyfriend. His name is Darius. He was known to the family because he and May were friends before he got accepted into Stanford and went away for school. Only he’s back now. He now wants to transfer to May’s school and his parents weren’t happy about it. They thought he was throwing away a wonderful opportunity for a girl. They told him that he would have less distractions if he stayed at Stanford. Darius heard all of his parents’ reasoning and he was still sent on transferring to May’s school. He was even staying at May’s apartment currently because his parents kicked him out.
Both Bobby and Athena didn’t want to intervene in this case. They thought Darius was an adult and that he could make his own decisions. They also didn’t talk to May because May hasn’t officially said Darius is her boyfriend. She just introduced him as a friend and so that’s what they all pretended he was. The next day brought a case that had both Bobby and Athena working together. They got called in after an assistant admitted he might have subconsciously given his boss something he’s allergic to just to watch him die. The assistant’s name was Tyler. Tyler has had several fantasies of watching his boss die. His boss was the worst kind of boss ever.
Then the boss fell down after drinking a coffee that Tyler gave to him. He thought he accidentally gave him the wrong one and he immediately started CPR while he called for help. He also admitted to Maddie when she took his call that he might have subconsciously tried to kill his boss. She sent Bobby to administer first aide and she sent Athena to potentially arrest Tyler. Though Athena didn’t need to make that arrest after all. The boss had a heart attack instead of allergic reaction. Tyler was off scot-free. He even saved his boss’s life. Athena told him that maybe he should tell his priest the next time he has murderous fantasies.
Athena and Hen later did several tickets of the lottery together. Hen was in charge that week of the tickets for the whole firehouse and so Athena heard that Bobby used his stepchildren’s birthdays. He also used the year Minnesota won an incredible sports game. Athena said she would talk to him about his priorities. She felt her birthday should have come before the sports game. Hen went from doing that back to work. She and the team got called on a bogus call. They thought it was odd. They went back to the fire truck where they continued driving and eventually someone fell from the roof of the truck.
This dumb couple had sent out a bogus call so that they could carry out their dream. They wanted to have sex on top of a moving truck. Everything was going fine until the truck took a sharp turn and the guy fell off. The woman also had a cut to her head. The team treated them both. Bobby even threw in a lecture. Something he should have also given Darius. Darius went to go stay at a friend’s place because he’s couch surfing and one of the people staying at the house was dangerous. Darius took May to the house. She was waiting for him when she found a mass casualty manifesto. It was written by a guy named Erik.
Erik blamed women as well as feminism for the world breaking down. In the book that was his manifesto, he wrote out steps to carry out a mass casualty event and he kept it vague. May found the book. She reported it to Athena. She also tried to warn Darius to stay away from Erik when Erik caught him alone. Erik took Darius hostage. Athena and the police became involved. They let May call Erik. They had her convinced he was surrounded by SWAT. He went to the window to check and Darius used that opportunity to run. He ran into the other room where the police were waiting. Athena arrested Erik. And Erik broke down in tears when he was arrested.
Erik never planned on killing himself once he killed a bunch of women. He always planned on escaping to Mexico and so May taking him down was the reality that broke through the fantasy. And Darius was so proud of May that he assured Erik taking him hostage had nothing to do with her.
Tyler later quit his job and he had his old boss sign off on his recommendation letter.
That dumb couple dressed up as a doctor and a patient before having sex in the hospital elevator.
And Eddie dropped off his son at his first ever prom.
