Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Thursday, January 6 Recap – EJ’s Revenge - Jennifer Quizzes Gwen On Laura's Death

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, January 6, reveals that Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) sought the truth about Laura Horton’s (Jaime Lyn Bauer) death while EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) vowed revenge. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) also suspected Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) wasn’t quite himself, so here’s how Thursday’s DOOL action went down.

In the town square, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) offered up another wedding present to Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), who complained about how many Paulina already bought.

Chanel thought Paulina’s support was more than enough, but Paulina thought that was nonsense. She wanted to throw Chanel and Johnny a good old-fashioned wedding bash!

Paulina pointed out that Johnny and Chanel never got a wedding reception, so she wanted to have one tonight since there was no time like the present.

After Paulina found out Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) left down with Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo), she also learned EJ was facing kidnapping charges.

Paulina marveled over all the drama, but she still intended to get EJ on board with Chanel and Johnny’s marriage. Paulina also wanted EJ to host the party at the DiMera mansion and decided to go talk to him in person.

At the townhouse on Thursday’s Days episode, Marlena assured John Black (Drake Hogestyn) that their nightmare was behind them.

Marlena declared that the devil wasn’t coming back, but Johnny showed up at the door moments later.

Johnny had moments where he spaced out and had strange devilish flashbacks. He blamed it on jet lag and pointed out his girlfriend became his wife in Italy.

John and Marlena were thrilled for Johnny, so he was grateful – especially since his parents didn’t have the same supportive reaction.

Johnny made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with EJ and his money after what he did to Sami.

Johnny mentioned giving the possession movie money back and knew Marlena wasn’t herself when she gave him permission to make the film.

Johnny admitted he had a distributor deal in place, but he thought they could just shelve the project.

Johnny assured Marlena that the demonic possession story was dead and buried, so she felt lucky to have such an understanding grandson.

Johnny continued to space out here and there, so Marlena was concerned about him. She urged Johnny to see a doctor if he didn’t start feeling better, but Johnny acted like everything was fine.

Once Marlena was alone with John, she admitted Johnny just didn’t seem quite like himself today.

Back at the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, the possessed version of Johnny spoke to him in the mirror.

The devil encouraged Johnny to stop fighting him and promised to make him a star, so Johnny looked unsettled before Chanel interrupted.

Johnny assured Chanel that he was feeling much better and loved the idea of a belated wedding reception. He insisted having a party in their honor sounded like all the fun in the world!

At DiMera Enterprises, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) covered up what they were really talking about, but EJ saw through the act.

EJ pushed Kate to accept that Lucas was behind Sami’s snatching, but she acted like EJ was the guilty one instead.

Chad wondered what EJ was doing there anyway, so he admitted he came to pick up his personal belongings.

After Chad suggested they were at the front desk, he gave EJ his nameplate from the CEO desk back.

EJ essentially told Chad not to get too comfortable setting behind that desk and warned that he wouldn’t forget this betrayal anytime soon.

After EJ was gone, Kate suggested that Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) was looking down on Chad from somewhere and saying, “That’s my boy.”

Once EJ was back at the DiMera mansion, he talked to Stefano’s portrait about everyone conspiring against him.

EJ thought he’d just have to take them all down, but Paulina showed up moments later in hopes of setting up the party.

At the Horton house, Jennifer was hopeful that Gwen and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) could be on good terms.

Gwen was willing to try, but she was miffed when Jennifer brought up Laura’s death. Gwen figured Jennifer was playing nice as a setup to find out if she killed her mom.

Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) defended Jennifer since she wasn’t accusing Gwen of anything.

Jennifer just wanted to hear from Gwen what happened, which was the same as what she told the police. Gwen swore it was an accident and hoped Jennifer could believe her.

When Jennifer took too long to reply, Gwen thought her silence spoke volumes. However, Jennifer acted like she just needed a minute to process everything.

Jennifer was truly sorry over Gwen’s difficult childhood and how everything went down in the past.

Jennifer assured Gwen that once they came back to Salem, she’d always be welcome in their house.

Jack and Jennifer also encouraged Gwen to get in touch with them in Boston if she ever needed anything.

Once Jennifer was alone with Jack, she pointed out that only Gwen and Laura knew the truth about what happened in the hotel room where Laura died.

After Jack and Jennifer said their offscreen goodbyes to Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), they paused outside Julie’s Place.

Jennifer admitted Salem was home and that it was always hard to say goodbye. When Kate appeared, she wondered who died since things seemed so serious.

Jennifer was rather frosty, so Kate wondered if she was still angry over her sad fling with Jack.

Jennifer asked how she could be angry over something so insignificant, so Kate took that as her cue to leave.

After Kate said to have a nice flight and took off, Jennifer told Jack that she just couldn’t help herself.

At the DiMera mansion, Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) convinced Abigail to let him help find Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) for Maggie’s sake.

They acknowledged that Sarah’s car was still parked in the Kiriakis garage and started digging through Sarah’s frequent flyer mile info for her trip history.

Abigail wanted to know if anything seemed off about Sarah leading up to the wedding.

Xander assured Abigail that Sarah seemed fine, though he added she was superstitious and wanted to spend the night before the nuptials apart.

Sarah also made sure Xander didn’t see the wedding dress, but he felt like she turned into a completely different person the next morning.

Abigail came up empty on the angles they were working, so she suggested Sarah might’ve chartered a private plane.

That didn’t really sound like something Sarah would do, but she was acting like a different person like Xander said before.

Abigail decided to get in touch with the DiMera and Titan travel departments while Xander investigated the dodgy pilots who’d take you anywhere from the same airstrip.

Before Xander left, he thanked Abigail – though she didn’t need his gratitude. Abigail just needed help finding Sarah!

Days of Our Lives spoilers say some new Sarah clues are indeed coming up, so stay tuned to DOOL.
