General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) may not take the bait when it comes to sealing Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) fate. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) suspects that the SEC is really going after Drew, which means Carly could be offered a deal to sink him and keep herself out of prison.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Carly will take the deal since a) she’s a couple with Drew and b) she’s the one who insisted on inserting herself in this whole situation.
Carly meddled when she shouldn’t have regarding the merger and paid the price for trying to make it a success.
That’s why Carly may stand her ground and refuse to turn against Drew. Carly can be pretty stubborn, so she might reject the deal and end up on trial as a result.
Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) warned that Carly would lose the case if it got that far, but that doesn’t mean Diane won’t fight until the bitter end.
The show loves to do courtroom scenes and have explosive blowups, so this could bring a great opportunity for drama.
Could Carly’s trial be when the truth about the SEC tip comes out? Sonny’s hoping that they can discredit the source before the trial happens, but that may not be possible.
However, there could easily be some eleventh-hour discovery that leads to Diane finding out Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) was the source and forcing her to confess on the stand.
It’d be easy for Diane to act like Nina had a vendetta and perhaps call into question whether her claims were even legit.
It’s true that the timing of Carly’s investment is suspicious, but Diane is a pro at spinning things and might be able to paint Nina as the villain in all this.
GH writers have certainly had other big revelations happen on the witness stand, so could this be the next one?
Will Nina have to confess under oath that she instructed her attorney to report Carly and Drew to the SEC for insider trading?
