Before Prince Harry began high school back in 1998, Prince Charles sat him down once and for all and had the talk. You know, the one about paternity. It has been rumored for years that James Hewitt was actually the biological father of Harry and on that day, Charles assured his son that the rumors were nonsense. He also insisted that when Harry was born he was in love with Princess Diana. Apparently he wanted his son to be aware that paternity rumors existed and to completely ignore them.
James has also emphatically insisted that he didn’t even meet Diana until Harry was a toddler. According to the April 29th print edition of GLOBE, Harry was very familiar with the man that he called “Uncle James”. He was a real mentor to the boy, especially since Charles was often MIA with Camilla. Harry really looked up to James and supposedly followed his lead when deciding that he really wanted a military career.
In 2006 James penned a tell-all book about his many years as Diana’s lover and Harry cut ties with him. He felt that James profited from his mother’s memory and wanted nothing to do with him from that point on. While the royals insist that there’s no scandal, every once in a while the topic will flare up again. Royal watchers insist that Harry resembles James, mostly because of his hair. I still think his eyes closely resemble Prince Charles though.
Do you think that there is a long buried scandal when it comes to Harry’s paternity? Nothing seemed to connect James and Diana until Harry was nearly three, but could they have been sneaking around long before that? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
