Tiger Woods found himself in another scandal yet again. The professional golfer was arrested for a DUI in his hometown of Jupiter, Florida over the Memorial Day weekend. The last time he found himself involved in a scandal was when he admitted to having numerous affairs with women while married to Elin Nordegren.
The couple divorced in 2010, and the Swedish-born model has since made peace with Tiger Woods. The two stars claim to have a better relationship nowadays than they did when they were married.
Everyone is wondering what happened to Elin Nordegren. She’s been living a quiet life out of the spotlight. She last told PEOPLE in 2014 that she has moved on from Tiger Woods at her southern Florida home. She lives there with her two children – Sam, 9 and Charlie, 8, which she shares with Tiger Woods. They have successfully co-parented their children and she praised him for being “a great father” despite his trials.
Nordegren’s relationship with Woods has improved over the years. He told TIME in December 2015 that they are now “best friends” He claims that they talk to each other on the phone all the time. They know that the most important thing in their lives are their children. Woods also shared those same sentiments during his October 2016 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
She made it through their marriage with the help of a therapist. Elin Nordegren also focused on getting her degree from Rollins College. She used some of her $100 million divorce settlement from Tiger Woods to build a 21,000-square-foot North Palm beach mansion. Since she only lives a half-hour away from the golfer, it’s likely that she caught wind of his DUI on early Monday morning.
However, maybe she doesn’t care. It’s not like Nordegren has any room to judge. She made headlines in March when she was ticketed for speeding outside of the 35-mph zone in her Florida hometown, reports The Miami Herald. The ticket shows that Nordegren drove in her white Escalade, and was caught doing 57 mph in a 35-mph zone at 9:40 a.m. She was charged with a $281 fine.
Otherwise, Elin Nordegren has kept her private life out of the spotlight, reports PEOPLE. She has no public social media accounts. She also hasn’t addressed Tiger Woods’ latest run-in with the police. If the two are good friends, then it’s likely that she understands his turmoil. The two seem to communicate better than they did during their marriage.
