Sofia Vergara is finally speaking out and responding to recent allegations that she had intended on destroying the frozen embryos that she created with her ex fiancé Nick Loeb. Her attorney, Fred Silberberg, released a statement to PEOPLE saying “The claims made against Sofia Vergara by Nick Loeb are incredible and hold no merit. Vergara has never wanted to destroy her embryos.”
In November 2013 Vergara and Loeb signed an agreement stating “no unilateral action can be taken with regard to the embryos unless both parties consent.”
Vergara’s lawyer goes on to say that Vergara “never suggested that she wished to have the embryos destroyed.” He says, “She has always maintained that they be kept frozen, a fact of which Loeb and his counsel have always been aware, despite Loeb’s statements to the contrary.” The statements concludes with, “Vergara, who has happily moved on with her life, is content to leave the embryos frozen indefinitely as she has no desire to have children with her ex, which should be understandable given the circumstances.”
The Modern Family star is hoping to have children with her current finance Joe Manganiello, and has been undergoing in vitro fertilization treatments in an attempt to conceive a family with her fiancé.
An inside source told Radar, “Sofia isn’t letting her ex get in the way of having a family with Joe. She began IVF treatments a few months ago in the hopes of having a child with him. This is totally different and a much healthier relationship when what she had with Nick.”
We have to admit, it is a little creepy that Loeb is interested in having kids with his ex fiancé, especially since she is currently engaged to another man, who she seems to be in love with. It sounds like Loeb is trying to cling on to Vergara’s fame, and looking for some money. You know, selling stories to the press can be quite lucrative. Sorry Loeb, but it’s time to move on with your life. Sofia Vergara is not interested in you, and she certainly does not want to have kids with you.
