Tonight on FOX Gordon Ramsay’s Masterchef Junior continues with an all new Thursday, March 30, season 5 episode 8 called “Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner,” and we have your weekly Masterchef Junior recap below. On tonight’s Masterchef Junior episode as per the FOX synopsis, “Six kids who have gone home get a second chance to reenter the competition by participating in two challenges that involve breaking apart a chicken and using the parts to make unique dishes. Richard Blais makes another appearance as the guest judge.”

The top 10 remaining junior chefs will take a break from cooking. Tonight 6 talented contestants return to compete to get there apron back. Only 2 will win. Their challenge is to break down a chicken. Gordon shows them first how it is done. He 6 watch with curiosity. The 6 will have 10 minutes to break down their chicken. They head to their stations. The 10 minutes starts now!

Gordon will judge by looking at the chicken carcass after. Jasmine has a little trouble. Charlie is crying because he can’t get the breast off with a clean cut. The judges and the 10 watching from the balcony cheer him on. Gordon walks to his station to give him extra help. Nassa and Donovan are doing great.

Gordon exams Jasmine’s. Great job he says. The other judges make their way around. Gonzalo did a nice job. Syd managed to find the oysters of the chicken. Mashu overall did great. Charlie did well on wings and breast.

Gordon announces that Jasmine will return. On to the next challenge, the judges give a preview, wheeling in a long white table with several silver domed dishes. Under them are all of the chicken parts with the remaining parts, the giblets! The kids all cry out in disgust.

Each of the six will get one of the six cuts. Jasmine gets to pick. She gives the breasts to Donovan, drums to Charlie, thighs to Gonzalo, oysters to herself, giblets to Syd and Mashu gets the wings. They have 45 minutes to turn their chicken parts into a delicious dish. They have 5 minutes to shop in the pantry to get their ingredients.

Syd is making BBQ chicken feet, corn on the cob and garlic bread. Jasmine is marinating her oysters. Mashu forgot to get his corn starch.

The clock is ticking. Gonzalo gives Mashu some flour. Gonzalo wants to help him. He is his friend. Gonzalo is making an Asian cuisine dish. Jasmine chose the oysters because chef likes to cook with them. She is pairing it with charred asparagus. She really wants to win. Charlie tells Gordon he missed him. He is doing a Japanese style drum. Gordon wishes him luck. Mashu is doing a Japanese-Italian fusion dish; wings over risotto. The 10 cheer them on. One minute remaining!

The 6 high five one another after plating their dishes and making the deadline. Jasmine brings her dish up. She made a honey blood orange glazed oysters with asparagus in a spicy peanut glaze over a bed of rice. Gordon commends her for selecting a difficult dish. He thinks she has done a really good job.

Donovan brings him dish forward. He made chicken teriyaki with rice and a cucumber salad. It’s a solid dish. Gonzalo brings his dish. He cooked Asian styled fried chicken thigh with bamboo rice and a veggie medley. He created a tasty dish.

Mashu brings up his karaage wings with risotto. Gordon thinks he missed the point. He did a great job on his rice, but his wings are soggy.

Charlie made drumsticks with veggies and rice. His veggies are overcooked but the chicken is cooked excellent.

Last up, Syd brings her giblets up to be tasted. Gordon and Syd both take a big bite. She doesn’t like it and spits it out. Gordon thinks the feet needed more time in the cooker. Her corn was great as well as the rest of her dish. Well done, Gordon tells her.

It’s time for the 2 aprons to be handed out. The judges talk quickly. The 6 talk to each other and share a group hug. The 6 are called to the front. The 1st apron is handed to Jasmine. They all cheer. The 2nd goes to Gonzalo. He is thrilled. He is going to eat with his apron, shower with his apron. Gordon says goodbye to the other 4 but encourages them to keep cooking.
