General Hospital Spoilers Update: Tuesday, February 9 – Jason Steps Up for Carly – Willow Chooses – Nina’s New Sonny Clues

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Tuesday, February 9, teases that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will land in a jam while Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) is off visiting Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) will be on his own with Sonny, but he’ll actually do a good job of dealing with the drama.

It looks like Sonny will run into trouble with the law again – and he won’t be happy about it. “Mike” will push the cops to take him into custody or just get off his case already!

Fortunately, it looks like Lenny will stay calm and convince the authorities there’s no need for anything drastic. Sonny should end up with a reason to thank Lenny soon enough.

In Port Charles, Phyllis will receive updates on Nina’s troubled daughter and the grim fate she faced. That should make Phyllis feel even worse about getting duped into helping with this illegal adoption.

However, Nina won’t judge Phyllis or blame her for Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) outcome. Nina will just want assistance as she works to score evidence of her link to Nelle.

As Nina holds the photos from Nelle’s keepsake box, she’ll ask if Phyllis might be able to recognize “him.”

Naturally, the “him” in this scenario should be Nelle’s horrible father, Frank Benson (portrayed by James Patrick Stuart in faux flashbacks).

Phyllis remembers a nice-looking couple coming to pick up Nina’s baby girl, so she can hopefully recall Frank taking Nelle along with his wife.

If so, this will put Nina a step closer to establishing her connection to Nelle. It could be crucial as Nina prepares to push for a DNA test – one that could prove she’s Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) grandmother.

Until then, we should mull over what developments might happen in Sonny’s storyline. Nina talked to Sonny on the phone and momentarily seemed to know his voice. Nina seemed to just let it go, but her suspicions could be on the rise in the near future.

Phyllis might credit “Mike” for encouraging her to visit Nina after all and discuss the struggles the poor guy’s been dealing with. It could lead to Nina figuring out that “Mike” is actually missing Sonny, who’s battling memory loss following his river tumble.

Nina will make a choice and second-guess that choice later on. Could Nina resolve to fill Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in on Sonny’s survival and then have a change of heart?

Nina will soon have a reason to keep the fact that Sonny’s alive under wraps. As Nina starts to figure out more about Nelle’s demise and the cliff cover-up, she’ll hold Carly and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) responsible for what happened to her daughter.

Until then, General Hospital spoilers say Jax and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will support each other. Josslyn will admit Carly brought her up to speed on Nelle being Nina’s daughter – and the part about Jax hiding the shocker from Nina.

Jax should get some encouraging words as Joss remains hopeful that they can reconcile.

Of course, Jax and Joss won’t know that Nina’s about to unleash her wrath over the cliff situation. For now, Jax will help Josslyn cope with her family’s devastation and look to the future. From where Jax is standing, he’ll feel confident that Josslyn’s going to live a long, happy and successful life.

Meanwhile, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) will be put on the spot.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) will want to know if Willow’s made a decision yet regarding his Quartermaine gatehouse offer, so Willow will likely reveal whether she’s going to accept or decline.

There’s been buzz about Willow moving back in with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) soon, but Willow might agree to move in the gatehouse for now. It’s for Willow’s own safety, so we’ll see if she goes along with Michael’s plan this Tuesday.

Other GH spoilers say Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) will have a heartfelt discussion. Olivia will suggest something didn’t have to be that way, so there are a couple of options to consider.

Perhaps Olivia will feel like Sonny could’ve lived if he’d chosen a safer path for himself. It could lead Olivia to remind Dante to make safer choices for himself.

Unfortunately, Dante is programmed and not really in a position where he can choose how things turn out for him.

Dante was nearly killed after he saved Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) from Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) syringe. Dante thankfully survived that ordeal, but more danger could be just around the corner.

Oliva’s been trying to tackle some marriage problems as well, so that’s another route this conversation could take. Maybe Olivia will vent to Dante about Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) falling into bed with Alexis instead of just coming to her and getting the truth.

Ned misunderstood the circumstances of Olivia and Robert Scorpio’s (Tristan Rogers) trip, but he should’ve trusted Olivia and been willing to hear her side of the story.

As Olivia tries to figure out if she can forgive Ned, Dante may have some words of wisdom. Since Dante’s missing Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), he might think Olivia should fight for love if there’s still a chance.

At Alexis’ place, it appears she’ll put up a fight on going to Sonny’s memorial service.

Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) and Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) will do their best to change Alexis’ mind, but she’ll apparently think her presence would only create issues.

Over with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), he’ll be looking all spiffy in a suit for Sonny’s funeral. Carly will be uncertain of whether she can actually attend this service and say goodbye to her husband.

Jason won’t want to pressure Carly, but it’d be good for her to be there and help with the message they’re trying to send.

The whole point of having this funeral is to signal Jason’s takeover and show that they’re not waiting for Sonny to return. It’s a matter of family safety, so Carly may summon her courage and rely on Jason to get through this difficult step.

This is a time for all Sonny’s loved ones to come together for a brutal farewell, but the good news is Sonny will return! “Mike” just has to figure out who he really is and find his way home.

General Hospital spoilers say Sonny will indeed make his Port Charles comeback down the road, so stay tuned to ABC’s GH. CDL will have lots of other great General Hospital spoilers, news and updates for you, so stop by regularly.
