The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) battle will bring a family setback, so the Newman outsider drama will get even worse.
Nick recently made some progress in his relationship with Victoria Newman-Locke (Amelia Heinle), but their sibling bond could still use some work. Since Nick will be committed to getting things back on track, he’ll decide to reach out to Ashland and try to make amends.
During the week of December 6-10, Y&R spoilers say Nick will hope to undo his mistakes with Ashland. He’ll pay Ashland a visit with the goal of apologizing and making a plea to move beyond the past. However, Ashland isn’t someone who forgives and forgets easily.
That’s why Ashland was so willing to go after Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and make him suffer the consequences. Ashland didn’t appreciate Billy trying to blow up his marriage and will make it clear that he didn’t appreciate Nick’s interference either.
Although Nick was just trying to look out for his sister, he crossed the line by ignoring Victoria’s wishes and digging up painful secrets that Ashland wanted to keep buried. That was arguably the beginning of Nick being treated like a Newman outsider, so he has plenty of regrets. Nick wishes he could do things over, but what’s done is done.
It looks like Victoria will basically stay out of it when Nick pushes for peace with Ashland. Victoria may suggest this is between Nick and Ashland now, but there’ll definitely be some tension as Nick offers an apology and perhaps gets a rather cold response.
Even if Ashland accepts that apology, he’ll no doubt make it clear that they’re not going to be buddies now. Ashland will play nice if that’s what Victoria wants, but he’ll always have a sour taste in his mouth when it comes to Nick and his Bobby DeFranco investigation.
Ashland doesn’t view Nick as a good person at his core and won’t be interested in becoming friends. Nick will once again struggle with feeling like he’s on the outside of the Newman family in the aftermath of this Ashland confrontation, so his peacemaking efforts may fail.
