The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) are poised to have their first major fight as a married couple.
Of course, it seems fitting that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will be what leads to “Shey” clashing. Adam has been Sharon and Rey’s main source of contention throughout their relationship, so it makes sense that he’ll be what stirs up trouble now.
Rey understands that Sharon has a good heart and always wants to have compassion for those in need. It’s a big part of why Rey fell in love with Sharon, so he certainly won’t be trying to alter her true nature. However, Rey doesn’t trust Adam and that’s never going to change.
Rey did his best to show Adam some kindness recently along with Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), but Adam didn’t see the need for them to carry out some charade for him. Adam knows he’s not a well-liked man around Genoa City – and Sharon knows that, too.
That’ll be a huge reason why Sharon feels the need to keep checking in with Adam and making sure he doesn’t feel alone during Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) recovery. As for Rey, he may argue that Sharon’s hurting more than she’s helping.
Rey might point out that Chelsea probably feels more threatened than ever since she’s in such bad shape. Perhaps Rey will argue that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) can be Adam’s support system while Sharon takes a step back.
Y&R writers will repeat their theme of Rey arguing Sharon doesn’t have to be the one who saves Adam, especially not when it’s upsetting Chelsea.
During the week of January 25-29, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Rey will push Sharon to remove herself from the situation entirely. Rey will think it’s best to just cut off Sharon and Adam’s connection for good – particularly now that they’re married.
Sharon may wonder if Rey’s the one feeling threatened and contend that there’s no need to be. Nevertheless, Rey might counter that this is their time to enjoy newlywed life together. He won’t want Adam sucking Sharon into his blackhole of doom like he always does, so he’ll insist Sharon needs to butt out.
Sharon may think it’s unfair to kick Adam when he’s down and probably won’t appreciate it if she feels like Rey is being a controlling husband. Married or not, Sharon may not believe Rey has authority to dictate her friendships – even when it comes to her problematic former flame.
Sharon has promised Rey that Adam wouldn’t come between them, but it sounds like that promise will be broken yet again. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest another Adam-related shouting match may break out, but this time it’ll be worse since Sharon and Rey just tied the knot.
