Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that fans of Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) are thrilled now that her return has been announced. Gabi’s set to exit DOOL on August 28 along with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), but Gabi will be back on screen this fall. Corday Productions has revealed that Banus will return to work in September, so Gabi won’t be out of the picture all that long.
Of course, we should recap why Days insiders insist Banus left the show to begin with. Banus was reportedly offered a pay cut that she turned down, which led to filming an exit.
Things were left up in the air during this forced shutdown, but now it sounds like Banus has negotiated a new deal – or perhaps decided DOOL’s offer was worth taking after all.
Regardless, it’s exciting to know Gabi’s exit will be a brief one. It also brings questions about why Gabi will return to Salem after her abrupt departure. Days will take Gabi and Rafe off canvas through some Eduardo Hernandez (A Martinez) drama, but it seems Gabi will bail on her brother and come back alone.
Since it looks like Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) will end up living in another city with Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) and Will Horton (Chandler Massey), Gabi will need another motive for returning to Salem. Love can certainly be a powerful motivator – although there may be a bit more to it in Gabi’s case.
Before Gabi leaves Salem behind, she’ll surrender to her feelings for Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) – and he’ll do the same. Days of Our Lives spoilers say passion will explode, so Jake and Gabi will at least kiss.
If that passion spills over into sleeping together, that certainly brings the potential for a miracle baby – and a great reason to come back to Salem.
Could Gabi return to deliver a baby shocker to Jake? Gabi’s been told she most likely won’t be able to have more children, but that doesn’t mean much on a soap. If Jake puts a bun in Gabi’s oven before she leaves, it could easily lead to pregnant Gabi returning in the fall.
A twist like that could really seal the deal on Jake and Gabi’s new romance. Can you imagine Jake trying to wrap his head around fatherhood? There’d be some fantastic places to go with that storyline.
Days of Our Lives spoilers will reveal more about Gabi’s fall return down the road, but it’s fun to speculate about a possible pregnancy in the meantime.
