Melanie Martinez was eliminated during tonight’s elimination episode of The X Factor USA. If you missed the results show and want to see who else was sent home, we recapped it here for you!
On last night’s The Voice performance show the 6 remaining artists performed, with a trip to the quarterfinals hanging in the balance. The final artists had two performances. One song was selected by the semifinalist and the other by their coach.
Melanie Martinez – Team Adam – Crazy by Gnarls Barkley & The Show by Lenka – Melanie’s first song, Crazy, was a haunting and eccentric version of the original. If Eurythmics and Lady Gaga had a love child, Melanie’s rendition of Crazy would have been the result. It was, without a doubt, absolutely fantastic. Melanie’s second song should have worked across the board, but it didn’t. It felt contrived and out-of-touch with reality. However, it should sell well with Melanie’s fans.
Below are the judges comments for her second song: Blake “That was definitely different for you, the important thing is that you sang it good, I am left questioning though wondering about your connection with the song”. Christina “The stage was cute and I hope you had fun with that, but I want to hear that sultriness from you”. CeeLo “Melanie I enjoyed it, I enjoy you. That was one of the most colorful and eventful stage sets on The Voice, I am a fan of yours”. Adam “I love coming up with ideas with you, I think you did a wonderful job, it was carefree and you let it all go”.
