Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino has blasted out of rehab and fled to a nearby airport since he has decided that he is cured. The Sitch has called the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah home since his substance abuse got totally out of control recently. He and his minders realized that if he showed up to film the next season of Jersey Shore inebriated and out of control they’d throw his ass out.
Mike is fooling himself if he thinks that his years of substance abuse can be cured in a matter of weeks. The only hope for Mike to stay clean is to remove himself from the environment in which he did his abusing. That is unlikely since he is returning to Jersey Shore and the usual gang of idiots.
MTV first voiced their concerns about his love of alcohol back in 2010 during the second season. They sat him down and explained his out of control drinking would not be tolerated. They told him it was disrupting production. Mike promised to be a good boy and pull himself together. But that didn’t last long.
During season 3 his behaviour went from bad to worse and producers pulled him aside for another chat – but this time it was a lot more serious. They told him to clean up his act or he’d be replaced. The threat worked initially and Mike seemed to be drying out. He made a real effort during the remainder of that season and into series 4 when the gang went to Italy. But once they returned to the US he went back to his old ways.
The Situation has CHECKED OUT of the Cirque Lodge rehab center in Utah … where he was receiving treatment for substance abuse … TMZ has learned.
TMZ broke the story … Mike Sorrentino checked in to the famous treatment center several weeks ago … claiming he wanted to “get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion.”
Sitch was spotted out moments ago at a nearby airport … and even took a photo with a fan who happened to be on his flight.
Now comes the biggest test of all … when Sitch re-enters the danger zone to tape the next season of “Jersey Shore.”

There is a hint of irony here – in that Mike left rehab on the same day that Whitney Houston’s final official autopsy was released – indicating clearly that she dies from both acute and chronic cocaine abuse. Wise up kid – before it is too late.
