Recent “General Hospital” spoilers reveal there are some comings and goings that will shake things up in Port Charles in coming weeks. Back in time for the wedding, Lexi Ainsworth will reprise her role as mob princess Kristina Corinthos-Davis. Expect her to immediately try and lure TJ Ashford (Tequan Richmond) away from Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos). Nothing like stealing your sister’s BF as a way to announce your return to town…
Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is back next week with a vengeance. Anna was acting more like criminal than cop before she left and wants to make things right. Look for Anna to go after Mayor Lomax and Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) for the rigged election. Anna also has to deal with Kyle Sloane (reprised by Robb Derringer). He’ll be back, then he’ll be dead!
Wild rumors are floating that Cameron Mathison may hit General Hospital for a short arc. Could he be the new character “Ash” that the GH boards have been buzzing about? Mathison says he’d be interested in working with his AMC wife Rebecca Budig again – this may happen if Ash is the mysterious ex that Hayden Barnes has long been rumored to be avoiding.
A rival rumor has it that Ash may be portrayed by Michael Muhney (the former Adam Newman from The Young and the Restless). Muhney is awesome but, given the choice, it would be great to see more of that undeniable chemistry between Mathison and Budig. No matter the final casting choice, count on Budig to act her face off opposite the character – she’s incredible.
When Anna blows Mayor Janice Lomax (Saidah Arrika Ekulona) out of the water as an electoral fraudster, that means the default mayor would be Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner). Rumor has it that Felicia may come back to serve as Port Charles’ rightful Mayor – at least for a while. She’s got the time and Wagner has said she’s always eager to return to GH for a stint.
There’s also talk around town that the excellent Wally Kurth may be replaced as Ned Ashton since he’s busy over on Days of Our Lives. Now that Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) is back in town, baby Leo will also be back but he’s with Ned. So how can the baby came back without Ned when Ned and Olivia are an item? If they do have to recast Ned, fingers crossed the part will default back to Wally Kurth should he become available!
Also, anyone noticed we’ve got some standard GH characters missing in action lately? When was the last time we laid eyes on Nikolas? Hayden? Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) will be back soon, so that’s good. And, what’s really exciting is that a new plot involving all of the major legacy families will launch soon, so we can expect much more ensemble action from characters we don’t see enough of!
