Michael Muhney Meeting With ABC To Discuss A Contract For General Hospital - Lands Movie Role?

Since Michael Muhney was let go from the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless, his loyal followers have been waiting on the edge of their seats to see where he would be working next. Rumors have run rampant that he was possibly returning to Y&R as Adam Newman or even heading over to ABC and starring in General Hospital. Some hopeful fans even predicted Muhney would get a primetime gig and put his acting skills to good use.

Well, after nearly seven months Michael Muhney has announced his next move, and he’s not starring in a daytime soap opera or even a primetime TV show. He has landed a part in a movie! On July 14th Michael Muhney posted on Twitter, “Whew! Flying to New York tomorrow to take some meetings…then back to L.A. on Sunday to begin filming a movie!” Muhney didn’t give up any information on what movie he will be appearing in or whether it is even a major or minor role. One thing is for sure though, whatever film cast him is sure to garner a lot of attention from his loyal soap fans. This actually isn’t the first movie Muhney will have appeared in, he shot a handful of made for TV movies in the late 90’s before his career picked up. And, in 2008 he starred opposite Val Kilmer in a crime thrilled called Columbus Day.

Michael’s mom already made it pretty clear on Twitter that Muhney wasn’t returning to The Young and the Restless, and the scenes starring Adam Newman’s hands were not of Michael. Fans were still holding on to hope that he would cross over to General Hospital with his co-stars Michelle Stafford and Billy Miller. Although, the fact that Muhney is currently working on a movie is a pretty good sign he isn’t returning to daytime, it is worth mentioning that Michael said he had to “take some meetings in NY.” ABC’s network headquarters are in New York City, so the possibility that he is working out a contract with General Hospital isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

So Muhney fans, what kind of movie do you think he is working on? Do you think it is a major blockbuster, or a made for TV movie? Are you still clinging to hope that Muhney is headed over to General Hospital in the future? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

I’ve watched Soaps since childhood & no one has ever held my interest & adoration like Michael Muhney. He’s so special & three dimensional. I hope he’s starring in a movie that is worthy of his talent. Michael, I wish the best for your future career. Meeting you is #1 on my bucket list.

The characters of Adam Newman_Billy Abbott_Michelle Stafford_and Delia Abbott are gone from Y&R. They made the soap worth watching. Whoever is responsible for removing these actors from their roles should be removed. You took an otherwise descent and well acted soap opera which I watched everyday to a soap opera that is so boring I dont even turn it on or tape it anymore. Good job…NOT!.

  4. Lifer says:

Am so thrilled for MM!!! He deserves this and so much more!!! He truly is moving on… We should all do the same and not wallow in the Y&R cesspool. The show is deteriorating…am not wasting another minute. Life is so much more!!!

  5. Rosalea Moore says:

I don’t care where he shows up. I’m watching that fine man!

Christine must have slept through English class. It’s “hear” you moron, not “here”. Brainless twit.

  7. Carole Reeder says:

I hope it is the biggest blockbuster of the year for MM

Once again, CDL spews fantasy based on speculation. When did anyone say Michael Muhney was going to General Hospital? Oh yeah, right here. He has never mentioned GH or an intent to be on that show. He’s making a movie and is in NY to discuss other opportunities, probably in Primetime/cable or film. Why would he ever want to return to Y&R or any other soap? His talent is way beyond that caliber of soap opera mind candy. Let Eric Braeden die in the role of himself. Y&R is awful now.

  9. Sandry says:

Congrats to Michael on his film but I am still hoping to see him daily!!! General Hospital are you listening. After watching Y&R for 30 years, I am now watching General Hospital and love it!

  10. Darlene says:

Oh, you’ll still hear about MM. With every new adventure he takes on, MM will be congratulated and supported. No one ever moved me in a soap like Michael Muhney. Tremendous actor!!

  11. Darlene says:

Team Muhney certainly will! We’re solidly behind our actor!!

  12. Darlene says:

Yes, Christine is still reading about MM. Interesting…Curiosity killed the cat!!!!

  13. ndavlin says:

    It is hear not here!!!

  14. ndavlin says:

I think the majority of viewers hated Adam when MM first came on. But because of his acting even through evil deeds they began to like him little by little because of his acting even with mediocre writing. He made you think thst character was real! I think he can be successful wherever he goes because he is so good and takes it serious.

I’m happy for Michael Muhney. I’m glad to see him happy and has found work in acting. I hope that’s its a block buster for is so the fans can still follow and enjoy his acting. I wish him luck. I don’t think he should play Lucky if there’s a possibly to him going to GH. Because that role if you ask me is to bland. I think they should bring him on as a new character!
